Summaries

Grade 3s and 4s carried on working on their rough draft on what life would be like without electricity. They learned how to conclude their report with a summary using the important ideas from their general statement and idea paragraphs. Students who completed their rough drafts got to enjoy independent reading before heading off to gym.
In spelling students were introduced to list 4 words. They worked on a review exercise in arithmetic today. In science, students reviewed the strategies that geologists use to describe rocks. They then conducted the hardness, limestone and magnetism tests on their special rocks to help them discover more about their rocks properties.
In math, grade 3s used number lines to round 2- and 3-digit numbers to the nearest ten or nearest hundred. Grade 4s used place-value concepts and number lines to compare 4-digit numbers.
