First Day of School

The grade 3 & 4 children had a productive first day. We spent the morning discussing the year ahead and our Essential Agreement. The children then organised their school supplies before heading off to gym with Mr. Rojas. Back in class we worked on time and place value in arithmetic. The children also worked on this week's spelling words. In math, the grade 3s began a unit on Place Value and Patterning. They examined and described patterns in a hundred chart. The grade 4s began a unit on number patterns. They worked on describing patterns as either a position pattern or a number pattern.  The children are bringing home their MMS workbooks and they need to complete pages 2 and 3. The children also attended french with Mme. Stella today.
