Lenses

How do lenses help us see? This was the question we wondered about today in our inquiry lesson about light.Students viewed the objects further in the classroom and close by using the lenses from a pair of eyeglasses and a magnifying lens. We read about normal, nearsighted and farsighted vision. The children discovered that they have lenses in their eyes and how the shape of their eyeball affects their vision. They then used materials to make a water lens. The compared the magnification of different water lenses.

The children had gym, drama and French class today.
In math, both grades had a strategy lesson. The grade 4s used an organises list to solve a problem. Both grades ended the day working spelling, agendas, speeches and poems. Unfortunately we did not have the Think Pads out today. Children who needed to do research were unable to do so at school.
Scholastic order forms are coming home today for those who would like to order.
