Hundredths

In our inquiry How We Organise Ourselves, students had the last opportunity to use the All About Canada Series as a source of information to discover how our country is organised. Most children finished their work  well in time, an indication of how comfortable they are becoming with researching.
Students attended gym, music, and French class.
They continued working on this week's list words and today's arithmetic practice.
In math, grade 3s represented mixed numbers using concrete materials. Grade 4s continued learning about decimals. Today they learned how to write and represent hundredths as decimals, fractions, and pictures.
We discussed the following aspects of our science fair projects:
  • how to record all work and thoughts in our science notebooks
  • the steps of the scientific method
  • and how to ask a question
We ended the day working on language. Students continued writing sentences in the sequence that they occurred.
