Healthy Snacks

We had an exciting convocation this morning. Ms. Farmer's afternoon dance class performed a dance for us whic the students enjoyed. Students have begun wearing the SJA house t-shirts and hoodies making the school a colourful place. Students played a house game where they had to try score a goal against Mr. Burt. Well done to Ms. Chin for winning this game for KIP.
In class, we worked on our Who We Are inquiry unit. Students reviewed Canada's Food Guide , the food groups, and examples of foods from each group. They then worked on brainstorming what foods would make healthy snacks. Remember to work on the Ethic Food Project if you haven't already as it is due on Monday.
Students wrote an arithmetic and spelling test today. Spelling tests are coming home today. Students attended gym, French, and Reading Buddies today.
Students are bringing home their O Canada Duo-tangs today as they need to complete and study their map work page. They will be writing a map work test on Tuesday. The test will cover the provinces, territories, capital cities, and legends. There may be bonus questions about Canada's regions too.
In math, grade 3s continued reviewing length, perimeter, and area in preparation for Monday's test. Grade 4s used a 1-cm grid to estimate and measure an area in square centimetres.
