Self-Esteem

We continued our inquiry into healthy living today by wondering how our self-esteem and body image affect our health. Students considered how heredity influences our body shape. Students were encouraged to be kind in their opinions of themselves, realising that everyone is unique. They brainstormed their own characteristics in terms of skills and abilities. The reflected on personal traits they would never change and one ability they would like to develop.
In arithmetic, students practiced finding one third of a set.
They attended gym, music and French class today.
In math, grade 3s created patterns in which 3 attributes change. Grade 4s used patterns to multiply a 2 digit number by a 1-digit number.
We ended the day checking on science fair progress. Grade 3s need to remember to bring in all materials so we can begin testing. We also began working on parts of speech in language. Ask your child to explain what a noun is.
