Rice!

Students enjoyed a reading of Everyone Cooks with Rice. They heard the many ways different culures prepare and enjoy this grain. Students then reflected on and shared the ways that their families' cook and enjoy rice. It was a yummy-sounding discussion. Students have an Ethnic Food Project coming home today. Look out for the letter and package in your child's backpack. The project is due back at school on Monday, May 6.
Students continued reviewing list 31 spelling words, and practicing how to write a fraction of a group in arithmetic. In language, we have begun working on word usage with words that do and do not need a helping word. Ask your child to explain what a helping word is and what words do and do not need a helping word.
Students attended gym and French class today.
