Shields Up

Good Afternoon

As per usual we started the day with Math Makes Sense, both grades had their introductory MMS lesson on division. This lesson was review for the students since we've been doing division for weeks now in our arithmetic books.

We introduced a new concept in arithmetic, solving for the unknown. If are still having trouble with this concept they are encouraged to stay in a recess for help. This would be the first time they are using letters in the equation so it will take a bit for them to wrap their head around it.

After music and french we worked on finishing our shields with the coat of arms painted or drawn on it. This was going so well that we continued to work on it after the second lunch and recess. Almost everyone completed their shields and they look fantastic on display.

Reminder we are going on our Medieval Times trip tomorrow! I know I'm excited so I can only imagine how the students are feeling.

Homework:
MMS 3 p. 86 & 87
MMS 3 p. 66 & 67
Arithmetic p 97 & 98

Reminders:
No need to bring a lunch tomorrow as we are having a feast at Medieval Times but we suggest bringing a snack for when we return.
Report card comments are due, please do so and we'll photocopy and return them
Parent teacher interviews are tomorrow night, please double check what time your interview is.
