The Tokugawa Shoguns

Grade 3s and 4s wrote their spelling test first thing this morning. Tests are coming home today. Both grades completed a reading survey to show what they have been reading, and what their reading strengths and goals are for term 2. Grade 4s worked on data management where they used a chart and bar graph  to organize data and explained what they learned from the graph.
Next up was our final  Christmas concert rehearsal.
The children had a fun french lesson with Mme. Stella.
Following french, we learned more about what Medieval life was like in Japan. Ask your child what a shogun, daimyo,  and samurai are? We learned how power passed from Toyotomi Hideyoshi's family to Ieyasu Tokugawa's family. Ask your child how this period of history still influences our lives today.
Today we bid a sad farewell to Ms. T. Ms. T starts a new position close to her home in Toronto. We will all miss her very much and look forward to her visiting us. Ms. T led the class in games at the end the day. What a fun way to say farewell and end the day!

Reminders:

  • Wear red, green, and white for Spirit Day tomorrow
  • Bring a treat to share tomorrow
  • Tomorrow is an early dismissal day (11:30) - unless your child is attending after care
