In arithmetic, students are counting money amounts that include quarters, dimes, nickels and pennies. We also reviewed long division where the divisor doesn't divide evenly into the dividend.
Some students worked really quickly and were able to enjoy reading time in class.
In poetry, students are finishing off the good copy of their quatrain poem. Some students chose to share their poem with the class, giving students the opportunity to enjoy each other's poetry and to reflect on the poems' message.
We ended our day with geometry. Grade 3s are beginning a new unit. Today's lesson focused on understanding the difference between a figure and a solid, attributes, equal lines and parallel lines. Grade 4s continued working on angles in quadrilaterals. Both grades got to construct figures on geoboards and then show their figures on dot paper.
Students attended gym and french class today.
