Pencil Sketches

Grade 3s and 4s began their day with math. Grade 4s are working on geometry review work to help them prepare for the unit test on Tuesday. Grade 3s learned about nets and how they are cutouts that can be folded to form 3-D solids. The children cut nets out and discovered that the congruent faces are opposite each other.
Both grades wrote their spelling tests this morning. Tests are coming home today. We did not do arithmetic today and no arithmetic has been assigned as homework.
In language the class finished off working on their Cinderella review. They have done well by completing 3 text forms this term.
The class had another hour to work on their inquiry project. There is one more week before the project presentations next week.
We had an exciting history lesson today. The children learned how James VI of Scotland became James I of England and the reasons for his troubles with Guy Fawkes.
We ended the day wth art. The children watched a tutorial on how to show value when sketching. We then drew pencil sketches of solids.
