Pedometers

Grade 3s and 4s began their day with math. Grade 4s worked on an assessment piece to show what they know about geometry, including symmetry and motion. Grade 3s worked on their unit test for geometry.
Both grades reviewed spelling lists 7 -11 and are ready to write tomorrow's big test. In arithmetic, we learned about story problems and a possible way of tackling the problem by asking ourselves 4 questions. The children used this strategy to solve word problems.
In language, the class reviewed direct quotations and possessive words.
We ended the day by working on our inquiry projects. Each student had a conference time where we went through the checklist to ensure they are ready for tomorrow's presentations. Check your child's agenda for notes to help them be prepared tomorrow. Students wearing costumes will need to bring their costumes to school and change at school.Students using music or props need to bring these to school tomorrow.

In an effort to be balanced, the SJA teachers and students are trying to add more activity to our lives. One way we are trying to do this is by taking more steps each day by walking, jogging, or running. Today, each student in our class received a pedometer. They will need a parent to help them register their pedometer at
http://wemuv.com Parents are asked to assist students registering because an email is required. Please fill out the profile page and register with St. Jude's Academy organization. There is NO COST for this program. The purpose of this initiative is not to raise money but to get the students excited about exercising.  Students start your stepping!!!
The class attended gym and french today.

Reminders:

  • Review lists 7-11 for tomorrow's spelling test
  • Arithmetic p. 85 & 86
  • Remember to bring in completed parent-teacher conference letters
