Skeletons

Grade 3s and 4s began their day working on math. Grade 4s had a fun activity building 3-D skeleton models of solids using marshmallows and toothpicks. This allowed students to model the number of edges and vertices in a solid. Grade 3s used models of solids to learn about the attributes of prisms and pyramids. Ask your child to tell you how a prism and a pyramid are the same, and how they are different.
Both grades worked on spelling and arithmetic in class. Both grades are reviewing comma and period rules in language.
The children have started working on writing their review on Cinderella. They reviewed a checklist and the rubric that will be used to assess their work. They have begun their review by brainstorming all they can remember about yesterday's show.
We ended our day working on our inquiry project. Students had class time to research their topic on the Internet, write poems or history notes and choreograph dance steps. Students may do additional research at home, but remember to bring your work to school. A few students have still not returned their signed project letters.
The children are bringing their pictures home today. Picture retakes will happen on Thursday, November 15.
The class also attended gym and french class today.
