Both grades got to work on list 10 words in preparation for Friday's spelling test. In arithmetic, students reviewed previous concepts such as uneven division and multiplying to check division.
In dance, the students got to enjoy watching serbian folk dancing called kolo. They also handled a traditional Serbian folk dance costume and got to learn the steps to a dance called Na Brdom, Brdom. The children worked up a sweat dancing and had a lot of fun.
Both grades finished their day with a math lesson. Grade 3s learned that if two figures are the same size and shape (having matching equal sides and matching equal angles) they are called congruent. The children cut figures to check for congruency by superimposing the figures. The also used tracing paper to check for congruency. Grade 4s have started learning about solids. They remembered that a face is a flat surface of a solid. They learned that a solid gets its name from its base.
The children also attended gym, french and music class today.
