Coat of Arms

Good Afternoon

In the wonderful world of Grade 3/4 today we designed our own coat of arms! Students were required to include a motto, crest, shield and animals. We all realized that the students wear the St. Jude's coat of arms on their sweaters and blazers for identification; just like the knights did.

We started the day with Math Makes Sense. Grade 3's learned how to multiply by one and zero. Grade's 4's learned how to estimate and use rounding to simplify equations.

After our spelling test, the students were given time to work on their arithmetic homework. After lunch we went over a checklist for a journal entry. We all read a sample journal entry and discussed what we liked about the piece. Learning about the coat of arms and designing our own coat followed.

After the second lunch we read Story of the World and learned about the French in the New World. I personally look forward to reading Story of the World each week and I know the students do too.

Have a great weekend!
